Fieldgroup Order

When defining field groups in fields.ini, is there any way to set the order of these groups? I can't find any consistent behavior for the order they are displayed. It doesn't seem to be alphabetical or based on the order the fields are defined, and it apparently ignores the "order" setting. Also, the "Details" group (the one that contains field that aren't in any other group" displays in a random order, not necessarily at the top or bottom. Lastly, is there any way to change the label for the "Details" group?

Also, I noticed a possible bug. When I add the table primary key to a field group, it causes the entire "Details" (ungrouped) section to disappear.

Hi,

I realise that this thread is from quite a while ago. Did you ever find a fix?

I seem to be experiencing a similar sort of problem. I've found that using the "order" directive corrects everything in edit mode but view mode still displays the groups in a seemingly random order.

Any ideas?

You can use the section:order directive on fieldgroups to set the order in the view tab.

However if your user reorders the sections manually using drag and drop, it will override any settings that you make with the section:order directive.

You can customize the main "Details" group by defining
[fieldgroup:__main__]

in the fields.ini file.

Thanks for the reply. The ordering all works OK.

I've tried the customisation on the main "Details" group. Just adding the fieldgroup has no effect. Assigning a field to this group gives the following error message:-

Warning: Invalid argument supplied for foreach() in e:\Users\Common\Data\WebSite\Xataface\Dataface\QuickForm.php on line 444

What am I doing wrong?

I tried to re-order the field groups in the view tab for a specific record by drag-and-drop the field groups around. However, it couldn't be remembered as mentioned. When I go back to the view tab again for the same record, the original order is displayed. Is there something I should specify in the _perfs directive in conf.ini? How?
