Dashboard --msg=xxxx not showing up [SOLVED]

Hello,
I have created a dashboard as per instructions on wiki.
Problem I have is that if I use:
The url parameter --msg= doesn't show up.
I can use
but would like to know how to get round the limitation of using main_column

Since posting the message, I think I sorted it....
Changed the Dataface_Main_Template to the following:
