Display problem in Find tab with Firefox v3.0.10

Postby fredly » Wed Apr 29, 2009 12:18 am

Has anyone else discovered a display problem (bug?) in the Xataface FIND tab when using Firefox v3.0.10? All the FIELD LABELS and BOXES appear on the extreme right superimposed on the SEARCH INSTRUCTIONS info box. The display is fine (i.e. the labels/boxes are on the left) when using Safari (in Mac OS X).

A related question I have is how do I customize the LAYOUT of the fields in the FIND tab? The vertical array requires a lot of scrolling. I'd like to have a layout that matches the horizontally-positioned and grouped fields I have in my DETAIL, EDIT/NEW RECORD layouts. I've tried using a custom html template using the action.ini file method as in this tutorial http://xataface.com/wiki/actions.ini_file but this does not seem to work.

Thanks in advance for any ideas you might have.

Which version of Xataface are you using. Some older versions did have some problems with display of the find tab, but they were fixed.

As far as re-laying out the find tab, this may be a bit tricky. You can override the find tab with your own form, but this is not an ideal solution.

Hi Steve,

I am using version 1.1.5r2 984 (according to the version.txt file).

When you have time, perhaps you might sketch out how I might be able to override the find tab with my own form. It seems that the Find tab is controlled by at least 3 templates - Dataface_Main_Template.html, Dataface_Find_View.html and Dataface_FindForm.html

From my perspective, it would be ideal to have all single-record forms (i.e. Detail, Edit & Find) look the same, although I can live with the vertically-formatted Find form if it's complicated/problematic to change it.

Thanks...
