I am eager to add a DHTML Grid widget to be able to edit the related records of a record in grid format from within the edit form.

I can only find one truely open source widget: OS3Grid (http://freshmeat.net/projects/os3grid/). It seems pretty good, but still leaves some things to be desired. Nonetheless, I can work with it.

If anyone else has seen any good LGPL DHTML grid widgets please post them so that I can take a look.

What about PHPGrid (http://www.phpgrid.com/grid) ? Looks good too

saw this under GPL for free version : http://scbr.com/docs/products/dhtmlxGrid/

very good widget. And there are other usefull widgets : Tree, TreeGrid and Menu

I would not pay much attention to bells and whristles now. It should all work with plain old HTML with no DHTML, JavaSCript or anything else.

This one looks particularly promising. It doesn't specify a license so I emailed the creator to find out about licensing. Particularly if it can be used in an open source project.
