Adding fields to pages and Report writer ability?

Ive done some experimenting and I've been able to add fields to the pages table without any issues. Ive got some more things to do this weekend...but if I get the time I am going to try to go through the code for this and make sure I understand it fully. But I am thinking, that maybe the ini files could be used to "choose" which fields we want displayed...and maybe this might lay the groundwork a report writer. (Using the include public.php at the beginning of our DF apps doesnt help..it causes variable conflicts...)
